Kiphire, May 4 (MExN): ATMA Longmatra block, Kiphire organized Kisan Kalyan Karyashala (Farmers Welfare Workshop) at Longmatra village community hall on May 2.
Moakumzuk, BTM, delivered the key note address and highlighted the purpose of the programme which is for doubling the farmer’s income and the strategies and awareness to be adopted. He stressed on the awareness of different schemes in various departments and encouraged the farmers to be income oriented, and opening bank account for generating money by taking up activities in both agri and allied sectors.
Success stories of farming on maize, soyabean, kholar were shared by the farmers. The resource persons were Dr. Khumjungse (VAS), Lithrongtsi (VFA), T. Hempao (E.O) and Ayoba (SCA). They highlighted on the schemes and projects of their respective departments and encouraged the farmers to take up the challenge and to recognize the most suitable activities with potential as per the local conditions. The programme ended with animal health camp check up camp and vaccination and distribution of brochures and leaflets.
