Dimapur, November 8 (MExN): ATMA Dimapur, Medziphema block conducted training and demonstration programme at Seitheke Basa and Seithekima-A village on November 5.
ATMA Dimapur in a press release stated that resource person BTM, Medziphema block, Chubanaro Jamir spoke on low cost production of vermicompost, its proper management and harvesting of vermin compost.
She trained the participants on the detailed steps involved in its production. She encouraged the SHGs present to opt for vermicomposting for its numerous benefits, a value added end product. The farmers and SHG members took keen interest and various discussions were held.
A demonstration programme was also conducted on line sowing of field pea (variety-Rachna) and cultivation practices of mustard variety M-27 by resource person Nengkhonem Hangsing, ATM, Medziphema block.
Later, a demonstration was conducted on organic cultivation of potato at Seithekima-A village by resource person Kozote Wezah, AFA, Departement of agriculture& farmers welfare, Dimapur.
Altogether 40 farmers participated in the training programme. Vermibed, samples of vermicompost, field pea, mustard and potato seeds were distributed.
