ATMA Tsaru Block inaugurates two farm schools

Tuensang, September 16 (MExN): Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) Tsaru Block, Tuensang district inaugurated an Integrated Farm School at Tsaru village on September 12.  

A press release from ATMA Tsaru Block stated that ATM, Tiyongnaro highlighted the scope and economic aspects of integrated farming. Imnamangyang Sangtam was appointed as farm teacher along with five other progressive farmers as farm students.  

On the same day, ATMA Tsaru Block also inaugurated a Tree Bean (Parkia spp) Farm School at Tronger village. During the inaugural program Dr. T. Arenmongla, BTM Tsaru Block highlighted the nutritional aspects, its uses and future prospects of Parkia spp. which is commonly called as “Yongchak” and also briefly explained the concept of Farm School to the farmers present at the inaugural program. Thronglongsa was appointed as farm teacher with six other progressive farmers as farm students.  

Meanwhile Block Farmers Advisory Committee (BFAC) meeting was also held at Tronger village. The ATMA team highlighted various agendas in the meeting while discussion on various farming activities to be undertaken at block level was taken up. In the meeting, the house decided to implement the program on the need based for the particular area which has been appraised by the BFAC members of the respective village/area. Altogether 27 farmers attended the inaugural cum BFAC meeting.
