Azo Nienu, organizations condemn murder

Dimapur, May 1 (MExN): Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA 19 A/C Phek and various organizations have reverberated in condemning the murder of Nesato Swuro hailing from Chesezu village on the afternoon of April 29 at D Block Kohima by Neilalie Louchü of Zhadima Village, Kikruorietuo Venyo of Thuvopisu village, Thepfünilhou Theünuo of Seiyhama village and John Chettri of Nepal.

Kuzholuzo Nienu: Kuzholuzo (Azo) Nienu, MLA 19 A/C Phek has condemned the murder. The MLA urged the law enforcing agencies to award befitting punishment to the accused so that such acts of murder are not repeated in future. “Such acts of murder have no place in the civilized society,” Azo stated in a press release from Kevi Soho, Press Secretary. He conveyed condolence to the bereaved family and prayed that justice would be delivered at the earliest.

CHK: The Chakhesang Hoho Kohima (CHK) in its strongest term has condemned the murder. In a condemnation note, CHK General Secretary Sakhohu Vadeo stated such senseless and barbaric act of killing one’s own brethren is unacceptable and intolerable. “It is extremely painful and at the same time unimaginable that such crime are taking place in our Naga society, where youths are led out with uncontrolled emotions and taking a man’s life for nothing,” the note stated. With a “brother’s life never to return back,” the Hoho believed upon justice to prevail as they urged the Police and Administration to carry out befitting order of punishment to the accused. It also demanded that the accused should not be given bail, adding that in the event of any lapses, “we will not hesitate to take our own course of action.” The Hoho also conveyed deepest condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul to rest in peace.

CYF: The Chakhesang Youth Front (CYF) has condemned the barbaric act of murder. CYF President Lhuvesayi Lohe and General Secretary Medovelo Sono in a condemnation note expressed shock where the gruesome act was carried out in broad day light within the vicinity of Kohima town by its own Naga brethren. The CYF urged the law enforcing authorities to book the “murderers with the highest degree punishment as per the law” and not grant bail in any circumstances. In case the law enforcers failed to give befitting punishment to the criminals, the CYF will be compelled to take its own course of action, the release added and requested all the right thinking citizens to condemn such heinous crime committed in the society. It further conveyed its deepest condolence to the loved ones and village community of Late Nesato Swuro at this time of grief and sorrow.

D’ Block Orgs: The D’ Block Panchayat Woman Organization, D’ Block Youth Organization and D’ Block Community has vehemently condemned the incident. In a joint condemnation note, the organizations offered condolences to the bereaved family and appealed to the authorities to deliver justice to the bereaved family at the earliest as per the law. The note further cautioned the “trouble makers, drunkards both from within and outside our colony not to create disturbance or unwanted situations in D’ Block.” Those found tarnishing the name of the colony will be severely dealt with it, “irrespective of who they may be,” the note added.

TWUK, TYAK: The Thüvopisümi Welfare Union Kohima (TWUK) along with Thüvopisümi Youth Association Kohima (TYAK) has vehemently condemned the act. The TWUK and TYAK in a joint condemnation note stated that one of the alleged accused, Kikrukhrietuo Venyo “was never a member of our union since 1980 as the family willfully gave up their membership from our community thereby took the citizenship of another village.” Therefore, it strongly objected to his particulars given to the police and “further condemned him for defaming the name of Venyo Clan and the village.” The Unions further urged the law enforcing agencies to bring all the perpetrators to book and award them with stringent punishment as deemed fit and as per the law of the land so that justice will prevail. The TWUK and TYAK offered heartfelt condolences to the bereaved family and prayed that the Almighty grant eternal rest and peace to the departed soul.

CWSK: The Chakhesang Women Society Kohima (CWSK) is deeply appalled and condemned the recent murder. CWSK President Neikhwepeu Khalo in a press release expressed pain that “in his death, not only is his life cut short, but a family has been left fatherless.” The CWSK urged the law enforcement agencies to urgently bring the perpetrator/s to justice. It extended deepest condolences to the family prayed that the Lord will grant peace, comfort and strength to the bereaved family.
