Balijan, March 26 (MExN): The Balijan Youth Club, a village based youth organization, officially opened its office building here at Balijan(A), under Bokajan sub division of Assam, on Sunday. Philip Teron, VDC Chairman Borjan constituency inaugurated the BYC office and unfurled the flag. In his address, Teron urged the organization to act as a “watchdog” and bring to attention governmental works which do not speak quality. Pointing to the Balijan open stage and Balijan ground, Teron regretted that some governmental works, especially in Balijan, remain incomplete and in messy conditions even after 5-6 years. Further pointing out that the government is bringing lots of schemes, he asked the village people to form self help groups to avail the schemes. Sharma village later submitted a copy of memorandum demanding refusal/cancellation for licenses of liquor shops in the village and that government be transparent in their work affairs.
