Barak FC, Lamphel FC enter quarter-finals

Our Correspondent Kohima, October 14 Barak FC, Peren and Lamphel FC, Manipur reached the quarter-finals after winning their respective pre quarter-final matches at the ongoing 18th NSF Martyrs’ Memorial Trophy 2017 here on Saturday.   In a thrilling encounter, 2 times champion Barak FC toiled to a 1-0 victory over a resilient Tyrants FC, Khuzama.   Khwetelhi Thopi netted the winning goal for Barak FC in the 35th minute.   Yellow cards were given to Asiu and Kivi Zhimo of Barak FC and Ketozo Thaprü of Tyrants FC.   In the last pre-quarters match, Lamphel FC trounced Khriekesa FC, Meriema 7-0.   Nigerian Francis O, the Striker of Lamphel FC found the back of the net in the 9th minute of play. Golmei doubled the lead in the 28th minute followed by Anao striking the third goal just before the lemon break.   Francis O again scored in the 44th minute followed by the fifth and sixth goal through Tuisem and Rambo in 57th and 63rd minute. Anao wrapped up the goal fest with the 7th goal in the 66th minute.
