BCTE celebrates 16th Foundation Day

Dimapur, March 23 (MExN): Bosco College of Teacher Education (BCTE), Dimapur, celebrated its 16th Foundation cum Cultural Day 2018 on March 23.  

In his welcome address, Fr. Thuruthel Joseph, Principal, exhorted the teacher-trainees to preserve and promote their rich cultural heritage especially in the present context when globalization is threatening the very existence of traditional cultures.  

Fr. C. P. Anto, founder – director of NEISSR and Peace Channel as well as the day’s chief guest, exemplified Finland as having the best education system in the world. He said the students learn best when they are placed in a happy environment created by the educational system. The teachers need to be enthusiastic in order to create zest for learning among the students.  

Fr. Tom Karthikkappallil, Rector of Salesian College, Dimapur, and the day’s guest of honour said that the students should not be forced to memorize academic matter but should be helped to become creative to face life successfully.  

The other highlights of the day included cultural dances and songs representing different ethnic groups and a colourful cultural pageant. This was stated in a press release issued by Jonas Kerketta, Bosco College of Teacher Education, Dimapur.
