BJP to contest election for ‘cause of solution’

New Delhi, February 1 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has decided that it will contest the Nagaland general election scheduled for February 27 “for the cause of solution in the State.”  

The decision was made during a meeting of BJP Nagaland State unit delegation with national BJP general secretary Ram Madhav, in-charge for North East political BJP election affairs, in New Delhi on February 1, according to a press statement from BJP Nagaland Media Cell.  

“Bharatiya Janata Party is for early solution to the present Naga political issue and BJP will be part of the system to implement all the agreements held between the Government of India and the negotiating parties,” the statement added. It was informed that Madhav is authorised by the BJP high command to discuss and sort the matters pertaining to the election affairs of BJP Nagaland State.  

The BJP delegation was led by State president, Visasolie Lhoungu, accompanied by former State president Dr. M Chuba Ao and former Home Minister Y Patton.
