BJP Nagaland issues clarification

Dimapur, May 21 (MExN): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland Unit today issued a clarification to the statement made by TR Zeliang, former Chief Minister of Nagaland as to why NDPP did not try to withdraw the “drastic action taken against its two leaders who were signatories to the joint statements issued along with several organization on January 29 this year.”  

BJP Nagaland in a press release issued by it Media Cell stated that BJP being a National party had to abide by the directives of the Central leaders, the two leaders were suspended accordingly which happened due to communication gap. However later, with due consultation of the Central BJP leaders, the suspension order was revoked in the larger interest of the party during the second week of February 2018 ,which was widely published in the print media.  

It also clarified to all that this issue took place during the Democratic Alliance of Nagaland regime, when BJP was an alliance partner under the Chief Ministership of TR Zeliang and not with NDPP.  

“The Party is entertained knowing of TR Zeliang concern about the internal matters of BJP when the NPF has bigger predicament of its own, for instance, its Manipur unit differing from its parent body stance. BJP Nagaland is competent enough now to take care of its internal issues as the party has its high command to guide it,” added the press release from BJP Nagaland.
