Says committed to pre-poll alliance with NDPP

The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Nagaland state unit today organized a programme to celebrate the NDA victory in the recently held Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking on the occasion at The Heritage, Old DC Bungalow, Kohima, Deputy Chief Minister, Y Patton congratulated the Prime Minister, Narendra Modi and BJP President, Amit Shah for the overwhelming victory.

Stating that Narendra Modi’s second term as Prime Minister of India is a blessing for the Nagas, being optimistic that solution to the Indo-Naga political issue will be arrived under his leadership. “He will surely solve Naga political issue during his tenure,” he said.

On the party’s stand with PDA government in Nagaland, Patton said that the BJP is committed to pre-poll alliance under the Chief Ministership of Neiphiu Rio. “We (12 BJP legislators) are one with Rio,” he said.

Nagaland State BPJ President, Temjen Imna Along,Minister for Higher & Technical Education, said that propagandas against the BJP party have been laid to rest by the mandate given to the NDA government for a second term. 

Meanwhile, Along urged upon party workers to stop all kinds of propagandas, adding “we are taking away the time, energy and strength of all the people for a progressive state.” He also requested the party workers to stop speaking against each other but work for the party.

NEPED Chairman, Kevechutso Doulo in his speech urged all party workers to work hard and see that the party grows from strength to strength. 

PHED Minister, Jacob Zhimomi urged upon the party workers and party functionaries to work in unison and proceed ahead. Health & Family Welfare Minister, S Pangnyu Phom added that the party can improve its representation in the Nagaland Legislative Assembly (NLA) in the future. For the party to grow, he stressed on the need to reach out to the grassroots.

BJP Nagaland Minority Morcha General Secretary, Ankur Rai meanwhile requested the State BJP leaders to look into the rights of the minority communities of Nagaland.  Observing that the minority communities of Nagaland are deprived central minority schemes,he requested the BJP leaders to set up a State Minority Commission for the welfare and benefit of those communities. 

Kohima district BJP President, Seyiekhrielie Nagi; BJYM president, Benjamin Yepthomi; Mahila Morcha president, Nini Cheng; and Kisan Morcha president, Er. Senkathung Jami and representative from ST also spoke on the occasion.
