Dimapur, February 16 (MExN): As part of the Nagaland Blind Football Demo/ Training camp, a thrilling Blind Football demo match was played between Meghalaya and Tura on February 16 at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School Dimapur.


Gracing the closing programme as special guest, Deputy Commissioner Dimapur, Anoop Kinchi IAS, reminded about the Rights of person with disability Act, where every child ought to live a normal life. Society as a whole should work together to remove the barriers of the differently abled people to make them live a normal life, he maintained. 


Also mentioning that sports promotes both mental and physical growth, Kinchi was optimistic that Nagaland players would definitely find a place in the Indian team stating that Nagaland team displayed wonderful show with just 2 days of training. Kinchi also gave away the prizes and certificates to the winning teams and the participants.


Sports Director, Indian Blind Football Federation, Sunil J Mathew observed that such programmes would pave way for the visually impaired to come out and participate in sports. There is talent and naturally football is in the air in Nagaland, he commented.


Earlier, the special guest kicked off the inaugural Blind Football demo game. Vote of thanks was proposed by K Ela, Prodigals Home.
