Dimapur, July 16 (MExN): The seven-day Summer Camp 2017 organized by Dimasa Students’ Union Bamunpukhuri village (DSUB) under the theme ‘Bloom where you are planted’ has concluded. The Summer Camp began on July 7.
The closing ceremony was graced by L. Leyang, Executive Engineer, Government of Nagaland. He advised to conduct career guidance programme in every nook and corner of villages each year. Leyang also stressed that if the educated and designated people take up such activities, it will have a great impact on the society. “This kind of educational programmes should be continued,” he said of the Summer Camp, according to a press release from Maibi Naiding, Organizing Secretary.
Meanwhile, Munuhor Thaosen, General Secretary, Dimasa Public Organisation Nagaland (DPON), who graced the programme as guest of honour, said, “This kind of opportunities we never received when we were kids. In earlier days, it was all about bookish knowledge but this programme includes all the activities.” The camp, he said, is not only about reading and writing, but is also beneficial for developing other skills and also tradition and culture. “This is the best chance for self enhancement. It also undertook exhortation programmes which was beneficial for both parents and students.”
The participating students presented Dimasa cultural dance and Dimasa cultural games at the event.
Earlier, Uttam Difoesa said the invocation prayer, Nairing Girisa, President of DSUB, delivered the welcome address, and Maibi Naiding pronounced the vote of thanks. Rejesh Longmailai (VCC) also spoke on the occasion.
The release informed that both the guests gave away prizes to the winners of different competitions.
