BMSCH Kohima organizes pre-Christmas

Kohima, December 19 (MExN): The Bright Morning Star Children’s Home (BMSCH), Kohima celebrated pre-Christmas programme on December 18 at Perizie with Minister for Higher Education & Technical Education Temjen Imna Along as a special invitee.


Speaking on the occasion, the minister expressed happiness and delight upon attending the programme.


He said that the spirit of giving and spreading love, joy and cheer should be the true essence of the season which will also heal our society of many of the present-day issues.


Expressing appreciation to the Ideal (IW) Charitable Society which runs the home, the Minister said that it was a noble endeavour and that the aim of having a Children’s Home was not to make it as big as possible, but to ensure that children in the society are not forsaken.


He expressed hope that Nagas would not just adopt children, but take them in as their own.


Along further praised the children for their various performances and stated that it was God’s gift to the children.


He encouraged them by saying that God in Heaven is the real father of everyone on earth and that the children are special in the sight of God.
Earlier, BMSCH superintendent Aleno Angami welcomed the gathering and expressed thanks to all those who came forward to partake in the programme.


She also gave a brief background on the Home which currently has 17 children, the youngest being 4 years of age and the oldest at 15.


She highlighted the activities of the Home since its establishment in 2011. She further thanked her parents and siblings for being a constant source of strength and support to her.


The Children of BMSCH performed various skits, comedy plays, special numbers, dance while Athe Rhi, Toshinaro and Akhonuo presented special numbers.


The programme was led by Welina Marak, House Mother. The programme culminated with a grand dinner.
