Dimapur, August 24 (MExN): A book titled ‘Pastoral Care and Counselling: Indigenous Perspective’ authored by Rev. Dr. Ezamo Murry was launched by Rev. J Thungjamo Lotha, Teaching Missionary,  One Challenge International (OCI) at Tourist Lodge, Dimapur on August 24.


A press release received here stated that in his remarks on the book Rev. Dr. Phanenmo Kath, Professor of Counselling and Dean of ILEMA, Eastern Theological College, Jorhat said that the book gives a new direction in pastoral care and counselling which is relevant and contextual.


The author draws his insights from the experiences he has had from various areas of ministry: teaching in school, pastoring a church and teaching in theological seminaries and engaging in translation works, Rev Kath stated. “The book is intended to be used as a basic text book on the discipline of pastoral care and counselling for which reason some of the theoretical assumptions in the subject are introduced, especially the elementary pastoral are and the psychotherapeutic tradition,” he added. 


The book published by Heritage Publishing House, Dimapur is priced at Rs.250.
