Speaking at the chief guest at the inaugural programme of ARSICON 2017, Dr. LM Murry, President, Nagaland Medical Council, stressed on making use of whatever facilities are available in your hands rather than hoping for something that is not in hand. The healthcare needs of the rural population are great and all possible innovation and skill are needed to focus on this issue. He also said medical science has tremendously developed but waiting for these technologies to trickle down to the rural people will take a lifetime and hence, the need is to focus on what is at hand.

He also commended ARSI for giving yeomen service to the rural population across the country, who are devoid of any health care facilities.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Z. Mozhui, Chairman, Organizing Committee appreciated rural surgeons who are working under challenging conditions and yet doing a commendable job. He said, rural surgeons are the true general surgeons working under severe constraints in terms of equipments and manpower.

Also addressing the gathering, ARSI resident, Dr. BD Patel highlighted the 25th Anniversary of ARSI. He also extended warm greetings to all the participants on behalf of ARSI. Organizing Committee Secretary Dr. Kahuka Sema gave the vote of thanks.
