BSF pays tribute to martyrs of Nagaland

Zunheboto, October 22 (MExN): In commemoration of BSF martyrs of Nagaland, 93 and 111 Bn Border Security Force (BSF) organized a mini marathon at Satakha in Zunheboto district on October 22. Despite overcast, rainy and foggy weather, large numbers of participants totaling more than 300 enthusiastically took part in the event, informed a press release from the 111 Bn BSF.  

Kaito Aye, Minister for National Highway and Political Affairs, who attended the event as the chief guest, flagged off the marathon. The competition was divided into three categories – Male Open, Female Open, and Boys under 16. In the Female Open, Vinikali won the first prize while Rebeka emerged runner up. Ameka A won in the Male Open with Isaka as the runner up. In the Boys under 16, Tokibo emerged winner and Vikashe the runner up.  

A trophy along with Rs.7,000/- was given to the winners in all categories and Rs.5,000/- each was given to the runners up. There was also 10 consolation prizes of Rs.1,000 each for every category.  

The prize was distributed by M Bala Devi, the first woman of 111 Bn BSF.  

Meanwhile, next of kin of Late Lance Naik T Khehuto Sema, Late Lance Naik S Muno Khiamniungan, and Late Constable Nikhato Sema were honoured by the chief guest by presenting them with a memento and cash, the release said.
