BSF troops ‘sanitize’ areas to ensure smooth conduct of election

BSF troops conduct patrol and check vehicles in Nagaland ahead of the State general election scheduled for February 27.
  Imphal, February 25 (MExN): Troops of Border Security Force (BSF) are presently deployed in Nagaland to ensure free, fair and smooth conduct of the State assembly election 2018.   Deployed in Zunheboto, Kiphire, Phek and Kohima districts, the BSF troops are carrying out “area domination, patrolling, Mobile Vehicle Check Post, Naka, night patrolling etc. to sanitize the entire area of deployment for ensuring conducive environment for smooth conduct of the election and to prevent any untoward incident, intimidation/coercion by ANEs/UGs/miscreants,” according to a press release   “Because of the alertness, active domination of the area and various preventive measures by the BSF troops, there has been no any untoward incident and peaceful environment has been created in these areas before conduct of polling,” claimed the press release issued by Hidam Shubol Singh, Commandant (Ops) for DIG Sector HQ BSF Manipur.   The release informed that the BSF troops will also be deployed for the security of polling booths, Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), polling staffs etc. on the day of the polling on February 27. “BSF troops are ready to thwart any challenges/threats during pre-poll as well as on the day of the polling for ensuring free and fair Assembly Election 2018 in Nagaland,” it assured.
