Dimapur, July 1 (MExN): C-Edge College, Dimapur organised its 6th Fresher’s Week for the B.A and BBA I Semester students from June 21 to 29. The fresher’s week concluded after a week of various events such as the grooming session, introductory session, ethnic round, and the talent show round.
At the finale of the Fresher’s Week on June 29, ACUAT Chairman, Joel Naga was the guest speaker. He started his speech stating Nagas are finally waking up and are questioning the authority instead of remaining silent. He further encouraged the students to inculcate the mentorship culture in the society by stressing on its significance citing some few examples of successful people from different fields who had mentors in their life.
Earlier, invocation prayer was pronounced by Yimwapangla, Asst. Professor with welcome address and Pledge of Allegiance by Er Moa Aier, President of the C-Edge College. The college awards of Star Attendance Award, Laurel Award and the Balakrishnan Ramanathan Award for EVS topper was presided over by Dr. Chubatola Aier, Principal of the college. The Laurel Award for the recently graduated students who had the overall highest CGPA from BA and BBA was awarded to Ongru Pongen and Shiluwati respectively.
It was stated in a press release that Ito G of BA I Semester and Imchakumla Longkumer of BBA I Semester were declared as Mr. & Miss Fresher 2017 respectively. James T Ayemi and Limugha Zhimomi of BA I Semester were the runners up. Other subtitles included Best Talent by Sedevito and Imchakumla from BBA I Semester and Best Ethnic Wear by Munuto and E Shotola from BA I Semester.
