CAKYO supports PAC’s effort on illegal taxation

Dimapur, November 20 (MExN): The Chakhro Angami Kuda Youth Organization (CAKYO) has acknowledged the Public Action Committee (PAC) in its effort to bring down illegal taxation by various Naga Political Groups (NPGs) and state government departments.

In a statement issued by President Lhuziecha Kevichusa and Assistant General Secretary Kezevi Natso, the organization stood firm with the resolution of ‘one Government, one Tax’ adopted on October 13, 2013 and extended its support to the PAC.

CAKYO further appealed the Naga Council Dimapur (NCD) to “maintain transparency in the light of recent turn of events.” The press coverage on NCD and WC, NNPGs resolved amicably, and in the aftermath, threat by NNPGs on PAC Convener and Co-Convener, was “rather ambiguous,” the release maintained.

“It is unclear whether NCD still stands with PAC or has come to an agreement with NNPGs to allow their old system of rampant Taxation.” The organization reminded the leaders that the public bears the brunt of “this inequity” and has stepped up to the call by PAC trusting the mandate of the respective tribal Hohos with a hope for change.
