Mon District Teachers’ Day celebration was held at Council Hall Mon with Kumar Ramnikant, IAS Additional Deputy Commissioner, Mon as the special guest.
Addressing the occasion, the ADC Mon paid salutation and congratulated the teachers for their selfless service in building a nation great. The ADC pointed out that, teaching is a noble profession which required for one to be honest. “Whatever you teach will never go in vain, do not expect immediately in return but whatever you have taught will ensure the students to be a responsible citizen of the country and they will contribute to the societies,” he added.
R. Zayao Lotha, District Education Officer, Mon speaking in the event said that the life and role of a teachers is very complex because hardships, sacrifices, moment of joy and happiness and containment of life has to be gone through practically. He called upon all to “Re-introspect as a teacher and work harder for the cause of education in general and for the children’s future in particular.”
Zayao also cited that, children always love their teachers and have confidence and trust upon them believing that the teachers understand their needs. “Children respect and honour because they understand that teacher is mentor of their precious life and future.”
Meanwhile, the ADC handed over the District level Teachers Award under Mon district for the year 2018. Bumang Phaiba, President KSU also spoke a word of encouragement during the occasion. Kaipha Konyak, Pastor Hindi Baptist Church, Mon lead prayer for the teachers. Nyamjo Konyak Patress KBCM and Rev.Fr.Sam, Catholic Church Mon offer invocation and benediction respectively.
The programme was organised by DEO & SDEO Mon, Aboi and Tobu where all teacher from Mon Hq both Government and private schools along with 20 students attended the functions.
