Candidates share vision to develop Tizit

Mon, February 14 (MExN): A ‘common platform public rally’ was organized for intending candidates from 41-Tizit Assembly Constituency at Tizit HQ in Mon district on February 13.

Four candidates – Paiwang, Naowang, Wangto and Khongjah – shared their visions to develop Tizit, according to a press release. Hatpha, the intending candidate of JD (U) could not turn up due to unavoidable circumstances, it added.

Noklem, the Convener of Clean Election Committee, who is also the president of Tizit Area Students' Union (TASU), introduced all the intending candidates, after which, Rev. Chemyuh Konyak, Executive Secretary, KBBB delivered a keynote address.

Rev. Chemyuh maintained that everybody should take the election seriously “because we will be electing our leader in whose hand we will hand over our future developments.” He also encouraged all the candidates to refrain from violence and hatred as they all are contesting for the same purpose. The candidates, he added, should not hold any grudges against each other, but rather share their ideas to develop the place, the release said.

At the event, Tingmei and Noktsak brought a beautiful concept of Clean Election through their play. Tizit Village Baptist Youth presented a song, while Apei, president Konyak Union Tizit unit, Ya-am, president KNSK Tizit unit, and Phoanei, general secretary, TASU spoke on behalf of voters.

The programme, which was chaired by Rev. L. Metjen Finance Secretary, KBBB, ended with a prayer for all the intending candidates by Rev. Angwan, pastor LLBC.
