  Our Correspondent Kohima | September 13 Defending champions Naga FC edged Nao-mei FC 1-0 to enter the second round of the 3rd edition of Captain Kenguruse Memorial Football Tournament, which got underway here today at Kohima Local Ground.   The winning goal for Naga FC came through Khwetelhi Thopi in the second half.   In another match played at Tsiese Basa Ground, Naga Terriers blanked IGAR (N) 6-0.   Y. Khekiho Chishi scored first for Naga Terriers in 16th minute and added his second – and the third for the team – in the 34th minute. T Khampai scored the second goal in the 28th minute while Chingkamlong scored the fourth in the 59th minute. Medo Angami then made it 5-0 in the 67th minute and Kevi Richa sealed the rout scoring the sixth in the 80th minute.   Organized by Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) under the aegis of HQ 3 Corps, the tournament was formally inaugurated by Nagaland DGP LL Doungel by releasing pigeons in the presence of Maj Gen Sanjay Gupta, Inspector General Assam Rifles (North) and several other top army officials and prominent public leaders.   Neiselie Kenguruse, father of late Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, MVC (Posthumous) also addressed the inaugural function.   The tournament is organised in honour of Captain Neikezhakuo Kenguruse, who laid down his life during the Kargil war.   Altogether, 24 teams from various districts including 3 teams from security forces- IGAR (N), DGP and 164 Inf. Bn TA NAGA (Home & Hearth) taking part in this 3rd edition.   The champion will walk away with a cash prize of Rs. 1,70,000 while the runners-up will pocket Rs. 80,000. Prizes will also be awarded to semi finalists, golden boot, best player, best custodian and best official.   The tournament will be played in two locations- Kohima Local Ground and Tsiese Basa Ground.
