Cardamom plantation in 21 Tuensang villages

Tuensang, May 31 (MExN): In line with the objectives of the Department of Rural Development, Govt. of Nagaland to provide livelihood resources to the rural people of the state, DRDA, Tuensang has taken up cardamom plantation in 21 selected villages in nine RD Blocks under MGNREGA convergence programme during 2015-16.    

To make the programme successful, first awareness training for farmers of the selected villages was organised at Tuensang HQ in November, 2015 and detail training-cum-demonstration for plantation was imparted in the fields by DHO, Tuensang and his technical team from April 11 - 14, 2016, informed a press release from Project Director, DRDA, Tuensang.  

The field preparation work began with jungle clearance from December, 2015 - January 2016, pit digging was done in February - March, 2016 and plantation was carried out during April and May, 2016.
