Mon, September 11 (MExN): To look into the developmental issues and special needs of Mon District, a Multi-Disciplinary Committee team of six members from the Central Government visited Mon District on September 10. 
A DIPR report stated that the committee held a meeting with the district HoDs and representatives of civil societies at DC conference hall, Mon.


The team was led by Dr. AP Maheshwari, Chairman & Special Secretary (Internal Security). The other members of the team were Dr. Ashoke, Director, RRC, NE, H&FW; Kabilan, Director, NE, Niti Aayog; Henok Buchem, Deputy Secretary, Govt. of Nagaland; Ajay Kumar, Director, Drinking Water & Sanitation and Arun Srivasta, DDG (DRD), Tourism.


A Presentation of “Mon District at a Glance” was given by the DC Mon, Thavaseelan K. IAS. In the presentation, sectors such as Health, Education, Agriculture & Allied services, Tourism, Opium & Drug De-addiction and Infrastructure were pointed out as the focus areas of development.

 
The Superintendent of Police, Mon, Imnalensa, IPS gave a highlight of the problems pertaining to the security scenario in Mon District. The various departments and civil societies such as the Power, Medical, PWD, National Highways, Education, PHED, Agriculture, Horticulture, Land Resources, Wankhao Government College, Mon, Government Higher Secondary School, Konyak Union and Konyak Woman Organisation presented their grievances and challenges they have been facing to the committee.


The committee gave their assurance to look into the problems, identify the gaps and to present the ground reality to the central government and also expressed their hope to do justice with the grievances and problems that has been presented to them.

 

Chessore: The Multi-Disciplinary Committee programme was held at Chessore SDO (C) Office on September 10 with a guard of honour from Village Guard (VG) Chessore Village. Anjana Dube, Dy. Director General (Department of Financial Service) spoke of financial schemes like Kevan Jyoti Bhima Yojana, Addar Pension Yojana etc. She also promised to look into banking facilities. 


The programme was attended by HC Mandal, Chief Engineer (NE Zone, MoRTH) and Deepak Chanduka (DDG, Telecommunication). On behalf of public, Y. Kiumukam, President Chessore Area Public Forum (CAPF) spoke. Earlier the programme was chaired by T. Lankonsen Tsanglao ADC Shamator, Invocation by Toki Allen, Pastor Chessore Village.

 

Tuensang: Multi-Disciplinary Committee, Government of India comprising of four members visited Tuensang on September 10. The team members were Ranbir Singh, Joint Secy DoNER; H.C. Mandal, Chief Engineer NE Zone; Anjana Dube, Deputy Director General, Finance Services and Deepak Chanduka, DDG Telecommunication convened a meeting with District Administration, all district offices and civil societies’ representatives at DC Conference Hall Tuensang.


PWD (R&B), Highways, Education, Health and family Welfare were given chance to highlighted the grievances and all the developments and line department are made to submit the grievances in hard copies.


The Deputy Commissioner on behalf of the district welcomed and highlighted the district, Orenthung K Kikon EAC (P) presented the district profile and the shortcoming of the district while Superintendent of Police Bharat Lakshman Markad presented on the Security/ Law & Order highlights of the district. The CKS President Nungsanglambe Chang also addressed on the draft representation which was submitted to the MDC later on.


The team members also responded on the grievances on the respective fields and they were of the view that the representation shall be analyzed and the team is confident that that the much needed shortfalls are to be heard at the earliest and rest shall follow the suite.
