Kohima, September 24 (MExN): Couples For Christ Nagaland (CFC) held its 2nd Anniversary on September 23 at Rüsoma Village with the theme “Rekindle the Gift. Fulfill your Ministry” 2 Timothy 1:6, 4:1-5 with Reverend Dr. James Thoppil, Bishop of Kohima Diocese as the main celebrant of the Holy Eucharist, stated a press release by Mengukhrietuo Marcus, Chapter Head cum State Coordinator, CFC Nagaland.
Dr. Thoppil in his address to the congregation said that “Couples For Christ is the movement that is inspired by the Holy Spirit to renew the face of the earth to renew each one of us.” Dr. Thoppil thanked God for the gift of this association that brought them together which tries to renew, strengthen and help them grow in faith and believed that Couples For Christ movement is inspired by the Holy Spirit in order to evangelize, to spread the values of the Gospel and through this family one will learn to serve, to obey, and to learn the values of the Gospel.
Reverend Fr. Paul Panü SDB, Parish Priest, Christ the King, Kohima Village, in his exultation told the congregation to rekindle the gift and fulfill the ministry, and exhorted them to continue to flame the fire of Christ’s call. “The more you use the gift, the more valuable it is or the more you give others to pass it on, the more valuable it is. Christian values, Christ values of love, forgiveness, kindness, prayer, community building, of oneness, if we have all this in our life than we can be a real disciple of God,” he encouraged.
Reverend Fr. James Sangtam, Parish Priest, St. Ignatius Parish, Razeba, Phek, shared his experiences on the lives of CFC in Manila, Philippines during the 37th Anniversary, 25th Anniversary of Family Ministry of CFC, Clergy-Lay conference etc in the month of June 2018 at Manila, Philippines.
Earlier, Medo-o Mathew, Unit Head, CFC Nagaland and Vipelou-ü Marina, members CFC Nagaland led the Holy Rosary. Edel Neivotsolie, Unit Head, CFC-SFC Nagaland was the compere. Mengukhrietuo Marcus, Chapter Head cum State Coordinator, CFC Nagaland gave the welcome address, Neikehetuo Norbert, Unit Head, CFC Nagaland gave the vote of thanks and Asanuo Jeanne led the whole music ministry for the anniversary celebration.
