A one day seminar under the theme ‘Put your house in order’ as part of Kohima Chakhesang churches’ men combined fellowship took place here on Saturday at Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima.

Speaking on the topic ‘Electoral roll as a birthright,’ Rev. Dr. Vevo Phesao stressed on the need to have only one voter identity card per individual for the whole electoral process.

He asked the gathering to avoid double/triple entry in the electoral roll, saying that one person one vote should be followed.

“As Christian, one should not practice selling of vote and indulge in other malpractices,” he exhorted. He added it is the responsibility of the voters to be well aware of the manifestos of the political parties.

One must not only look at the credibility of candidates, but give importance to the ideology and manifesto of the political parties, which will in turn be beneficial, the speaker maintained. He further asked that gathering to adhere to the code of clean election given by the Nagaland Baptist Church Council.

Rev. Khrotso Mero, senior pastor, Chakhesang Baptist Church Kohima, Rev. Dr. Kevekhalo Lasuh, and Rev. Khrütsoyi Lüruo also spoke at the programme.

The gathering took a pledge to stick to the principle of “One man one vote” and also not to cast any proxy vote in the elections.
