‘Christmas with Boney M’ in Kohima

The much awaited Boney M band arrived Kohima today to perform international show ‘Christmas with Boney M’ on December 10 at Indira Gandhi Stadium from 5:00 PM onwards as part of Hornbill International Music Festival 2017.   The band live and in person led by its founding member Liz Mitchell and her line up comprising Toni Ashcroft (who replaced Bobby Farrell who died in 2010), Valerie Margaret Jacinth and Vanessa Paulette who has been touring with her since the late 80's till date as Boney M featuring Liz Mitchell under its original record producer Frank Farian.   They will perform their hits such as Rivers of Babylon, Mary's Boy Child, Daddy Cool, Sunny, Ma Baker, Belfast, Rasputin, Brown Girl In The Ring, to name a few.   “We are proud to be here,” said Liz Mitchell while talking to media persons on their arrival.   The band will take stage for around an hour and it may go beyond on request of fans.   “We want to make everybody happy,” said Mitchell.   She said they are going to make the biggest show, for which, people have to come and make it possible.   Mitchell also expressed desire to visit Hornbill Festival event at Kisama if time permit.   On being asked any message for music lovers of the region, she said, “without music lover we would not be here today because music lovers keep music alive.”   The event is expected to be a Christmas family show comprising an audience of all age groups, a sizeable part of which will be the older generation.   A lot of fans are also expected to arrive in Kohima from other states.   The general tickets admitting single entry is priced at Rs. 1000/- while others willing to avail parking facility and light refreshments will have to go for the Rs. 10000/- Gold Pass which will admit two adults. Children below 10 years accompanying their parents will be given free entry.   Tickets will be available at the venue besides the outlets in different districts where sale is going on.   In order to ensure smooth traffic flow on the concert night, upcoming vehicles from Wokha side and those proceeding to IG stadium from High School side will be diverted towards New Secretariat through High Court junction below Meriema, according to organizer Nagaland Outdoors Club.
