Christmas greetings

As the festive mood drives us around and the whole world is creatively preparing to celebrate the Birthday of our Lord & Saviour Jesus Christ, I, on my own behalf and the Council of Nagalim Churches would like to bring the joy of Christmas greetings to all citizens of Nagalim. What a joy and privilege it is to celebrate once more the Birthday of our Lord Jesus Christ! By His love and grace we are in this season again.

As we prepare ourselves for Christmas, we are being challenged how we should celebrate it. Yes, God wants us to enjoy the birthday of His begotten Son. Therefore all sons and daughters ought to rejoice greatly on this day.

But, I would like to let all of us recall how we did celebrate Christmas in the past! How sad it is for those who halfheartedly attended the church services but enjoyed orgies, eating and drinking not realizing what Christ had really done for us (Rom. 14:17)! The book of Ecclesiastes 12:8, says that such kind of celebration if “…Vanity of vanities…”

Therefore, dearly beloved brothers and sisters in Christ, as we celebrate Christmas this year, let us also pray & prepare our hearts to accept Christ in our hearts. God in His love, has given us His unspeakable gift, which human words cannot describe and explain of its wonder. No word suffices to express or translate God’s love for us, and his redeeming work in Christ. The Good News that the Angels brought to the shepherds that night and to us today is, God’s Salvation which includes physical healing. This Joy is for those who believe and accept Christ as their personal Savior and Lord.

I am also sending this Good News to all prisoners. We know human love has limitation and failure. But God’s love never fail. The meaning and purpose of Christ birth is well connected to Luke 4:18 which talks about the proclamation of the Good News of “liberty to the captives, recovering of sight to the blind, to set liberty to those who are oppressed, (and) to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.” (ESV)

Under whatever circumstance of life we may be, God is able to deliver us from all kinds of bondages. Let us not lose heart.

Dearly beloved countrymen in Christ, as Christmas draw nigh, let us prepare ourselves physically and spiritually so that we may celebrate the Birthday of Our Lord Jesus Christ this year in the manner he likes us. Let God’s unspeakable gift be yours.

“Thanks be to God for His unspeakable gift – 2 Corth. 9:15
