A classical guitar concert was held at MAK on May 4, hosted by the Director Khyochano TCK Ngully. The visiting artist Paul Cesarcyzk, an internationally acclaimed classical guitarist was accompanied by Veda Aggarwal, Director of IGF and members of Nagaland Classical Guitar Society. Aggarwal briefly introduced Cesarcyzk and mentioned how she was blown away by his performance when they first met in Thailand. She also spoke about how in the year 2015 (Thailand) under Paul’s tutelage, one of his student became the first Asian to win the prestigious GFA competition. She expressed her hope that Nagaland,with its musically inclined people would be ideal for hosting more such events to further promote and educate western classical music. The guitarist mesmerised the audience with flawless performances by works of Jakub Reys, Fernando Sor and Mario Juliano to name a few. He also conducted a workshop on May 5 at MAK for guitar students and teachers from Kohima.
