Clean Mkg Campaign concludes Bamboo Dustbin Project

Mokokchung, September 11 (MExN): Concerned citizens of Mokokchung under the slogan ‘Clean Mokokchung Campaign’ have been organising cleanliness drives and visiting institutions.

Over the past few months the group has visited 25 institutions (schools, colleges and hostels), bringing awareness about littering and cleanliness, while donating eco-friendly waste bins (83) which were sponsored by different individuals.

On September 11, the team concluded the Bamboo Dustbin Project by visiting three schools- Salangtem Government Primary School, CURE Foundation (school for children with special needs) and Blossoms Preschool.

Limaonen Imchen, co-ordinator of Clean Mokokchung Campaign said, “Everything has been done by the self contribution of individuals when it comes to money, time and effort. The group is purely self motivated and not a funded group as some assume. Even though the Bamboo Dustbin Project will stop for now, we encourage everyone to come together and continue working towards a litter free town.”

The group further encouraged the citizens of Nagaland to work towards a cleaner and greener Nagaland selflessly and tirelessly.
