“The festival is a reflection of thanksgiving to the Almighty God for His blessings and bountiful harvest and it must be an occasion for the people to come together to ensure peace, harmony and love in this peaceful state,” the CM stated in a message.

The Kuki tribe, he said, has rich cultural heritage and they must promote and preserve their unique cultures, traditions, songs and dances from the influence of modernity. The community can also play an important role in strengthening bonds between different tribes and contribute towards economic development of the state, Zeliang added.

He wished that the festival brings great joy and prosperity to all the households of the community.
