Kohima, August 15 (DIPR): State Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio today released the district human development reports during the Independence Day function at Secretariat Plaza, Kohima.
Nagaland brought out its first State Human Development Report in 2004 and as a follow-up, the State signed the tripartite agreement on 2008 to participate in the UNDP-GOI Project ‘Strengthening of State Plans, for Human Development’. Prof. Manoj Pant, School of International Studies, JNU, New Delhi was the Lead Co-ordinator while Alemtemshi Jamir, IAS, Additional Chief Secretary & Development Commissioner was the Principal Co-ordinator.
On the basis of human development rankings, three districts, Kohima, Phek and Mon district were selected. Six thematic reports on Communitization and Health, Nagaland Experience communitization of Education – the Nagaland Experience, Role of Women in natural resource management, Rural Urban-Rural migration, Livelihood and employment opportunities – sectoral issues and traditional agricultural practice and sustainable livelihood were also authored.
