CM visits landslide affected areas

Kohima, August 17 (MExN): Chief Minister, Neiphiu Rio visited landslide affected areas along National highway 29 in Kohima on August 15. He was accompanied by Advisor, Pukhayi, Chief Secretary, Temjen Toy and other senior officers including officials of the PWD National Highways and R&B, a DIPR release said.  

The Chief Minister discussed with the concerned officials ways to restore important roads. He suggested that some temporary passages may be opened as early as possible while also working on the permanent solution, the release also said.  

Rio further directed the Power Grid Corporation to shift or remove high tension power lines and tower which were affected by the landslide. Meanwhile interacting with the contractors of the four-lane highway, he also urged them to expedite and complete the process before the allocated time.
