CMA entrusted to seize alcohol, intoxicating items

Phek, February 13 (MExN): In pursuance with the collective decision of the Chakhesang Clean Election Movement to maintain peace and tranquillity within Chakhesang area and to ensure smooth electioneering processes, the Chakhesang Mothers’ Association (CMA) and its units have been entrusted to “check and confiscate or seize any alcohol or intoxicating items on spot if found in possession or transporting within the Chakhesang jurisdiction.”  

A press release from Chakhesang Public Organisation (CPO) general secretary, Mutsivoyi Kotso informed that CMA is authorised to set up ‘Social Check Gate’ or stop any moving or stationary suspicious vehicle or person at any place deem fit or justified within the Chakhesang area during the ensuing general election period.  

However vehicles of security forces, district administration & ECI Election Observers are exempted, the release added.  

CPO solicited cooperation of all peace loving citizens and asked apology for the inconvenience(s) caused to any individual or groups by the act.
