A five day combat sports festival 2018 under the aegis of 3E Nagaland will be held from October 23 to 27 at Kohima Local Ground, Khuochiezie.

 

The festival will have two segments – Naga wrestling and Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).

 

The Naga wrestling event is NagaWrestleMania 7 (King Of The Ring Series 2018) scheduled for October 23, starting at 10:00 AM, which will be comprised of two categories—Lightweight (74 kg and below) and Heavyweight category (above 74 kg).

 

The two categories will undergo their respective preliminary rounds and after reaching the last 16, they will be clubbed together to play the ‘King of the Ring’ Championship.

 

The cash prizes are as follows—Losing 16 – Rs. 3000 each; losing 8 – Rs. 5000 each; losing 4 – Rs. 8000 each; fourth place – Rs. 15000; third place – Rs. 30,000; runner-up – Rs. 60,000;and King Of The Ring Champion – Rs. 1,20,000.

 

Gallery tickets are priced at Rs. 100 and chair at Rs. 150.

 

Some prominent wrestlers who will be in action are reigning NWA champion Menuosetuo Yiese; reigning King Of The Ring and CWA champion Venuzo Dawhuo; reigning Naga WrestleMania heavyweight champion Dzieselatuo Keretsü; newest sensation and reigning ASA champion Kezhaseluo-o Pienyü; and first ever Heavyweight champion and veteran Khrievotuo Sekhose. Another attraction will be the only outsider Rahul Rai who weighs 96 kg and is a top contender.

 

The inaugural ceremony will be graced by MLA Keneizhakho Nakhro as special guest.

Mixed Martial Arts event

The Mixed Martial Arts event will comprise of the X1 Championship to be held on October 26 and 27; starting at 5:00pm daily.

 

This fighting championship is sanctioned by MMA India and 32 fighters from all over the country, a good number of which are from the NE region, particularly Nagaland, representing different gyms in Kohima and Dimapur, will take part in the event. Tickets for the MMA event are as follows: Gallery – Rs. 100 and Chair – Rs. 200.
