NSRLM review meeting underscores inclusive planning towards attaining sustainable community institutions

 

Dimapur, January 23 (MExN): Nagaland State Rural Livelihoods Mission (NSRLM) under DAY-NRLM, MoRD completed the three-day annual review cum planning workshop on January 23 in Dimapur. 


In his address, CI Meren, Jt Director, RD and Additional Mission Director, NSRLM, while appreciating the national recognitions the State Mission have received during its 7th year of implementation, acknowledged the joint efforts of NSRLM team in contributing to these accolades. 


He noted that NSRLM have ensured taking qualified developmental professionals on board, and encouraged the team to give continued concerted efforts, sincerity and commitment in brainstorming new ideas, innovations, and plans and to achieve greater things for the rural poor in their respective District.


“This will booster the collective gaols of NRLM in building sustainable and prosperous community institutions.”


Speaking on the objective of the workshop, M Rollan Lotha, Chief Operating Officer (COO), NSRLM underscored the importance of the review meeting for taking stock of progress, backlogs, challenges and addressing them, and for planning ahead based on the outcomes. 


He highlighted the State Mission’s quantum leap in covering all 11 Districts and 74 Blocks this financial year, while saturation of household is expected by 2022.


He stressed “With the cent percent coverage the key focus of the Mission Management Units now is to intensify integration of all verticals for deepening the intervention of social inclusion; strengthening the community institutions and its systems; creating more model federations; developing community resource centres; and developing pool of human resource capital under each domain.” 


He reiterated that community members are at the heart of NSRLM and therefore, inclusive planning is needed towards attaining sustainable community institutions. 


The first two days focussed on district wise presentation on their progress and challenges, while the last day was focussed on planning for the 4th Quarter and FY 2020-20. With the emergence of good practises in different components across the State, the need for cross-learning and knowledge sharing between the Districts and Blocks for the staff and community members were also agreed upon towards communitization on the aegis of community-to-community learning. 


The participants were the District Mission Management Units. The workshop was facilitated by SPMs Imonenla Imkong Phom and Renvungo Murry.
