Dimapur, September 24 (MExN): The National Tobacco Control Program (NTCP) in collaboration with Development Association of Nagaland (DAN) and Peace Channel jointly organised community tobacco awareness and health camp at Khriezephe village on September 23.
Dr. C Tetseo, who was the resource person, warned the villagers that tobacco consumption will not only create a health problem, but it can also lead to alcoholism and drug addiction among young people. He encouraged the village council to adopt tobacco free village norm for the good of the village, stated a press release received here.
The resource person also stated that inter sectoral collaboration is the need of the hour and NGOs like Peace Channel and DAN are playing positive roles on health issues. Dr. C Tetseo appreciated the NEISSR students for initiating the programme. Dr. V Kezo and Dr Arenla attended to nearly hundred patients during the programme and free medicines were given, it was informed.
