Cong welcome to quit TN alliance: DMK

Chennai, January 15 (IANS): The Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK) treasurer Duraimurugan on Wednesday said his party would not be loser if the ally Congress wanted to go away.

Speaking to reporters at Vellore, Duraimurugan said the DMK would not lose anything if the Congress decided to exit the alliance.

The DMK leader's remark has come a day after Tamil Nadu Congress chief K.S. Alagiri said there was no tussle between the Congress and the DMK.

The DMK is upset with the state Congress leadership after Alagiri said the former didn't follow the coalition dharma in allotment of seats for the party in the recent rural local body polls.

An angry DMK decided to boycott the opposition meeting called by Congress leader Sonia Gandhi in Delhi recently.
