Consultation on NBCC Vision 2030 held

DIMAPUR, AUGUST 25 (MExN): A consultation on NBCC Vision 2030 was jointly organized by Nagaland Baptist Church Council and Development of Human Potential (DHP), Imphal at NBCC Platinum Hall, Kohima from August 23 -25.  

The program started with a keynote address by Rev. Dr. Tamthing, Program Coordinator, DHP. In his address he mentioned that the consultation was organized to present a road map for the church which in return will give a clear direction of development for the people.  

The other resource persons were Alemtemshi Jamir, Convenor, Nagaland Vision 2030; Nuklu Phom, Executive Secretary,  Phom Baptist Churches Association; Kikheto Sema IAS, Secretary, Land Resource; Colo Mero, Director, Life Ministries, Kohima; Dr Asakho Hibo, Principal, Japfu Christian College and Rev. Dr. Zelhou Keyho, General Secretary, NBCC.  

The topics dealt were “Present Development Context & Scenario of Nagaland and the role of the Church,” “Ecological & Environmental scenario of Nagaland and the role of the Church,” “Socio-Economic Status of Nagaland today & the role of the Church in major Development areas,” “Youth Renaissance in Nagaland & the role of the Church in nurturing the youth in shaping and developing the church and society,” “Gender Just Development Scenario of Nagaland & the role of the Church in the area of Women empowerment,” and “NBCC- Integrity of God’s Creation by 2030.”  

Rev. C. Lima Sangtam, Executive Secretary, United Sangtam Baptist Churches Association (USBLA) and Rev. Dr. Vezopa Tetseo, Executive Secretary, Chakhesang Baptist Church Council led the morning devotions. On the last day there was a group discussion on “A dream/wish of people ‘To be picture of 2030” led and facilitated by DHP members. The program ended with group presentation. All together 66 participants attended the program.
