Consultative meeting of higher education

Kohima, August 12 (MExN): A consultative meeting convened by the Advisor of the Department of Higher Education, Deo Nukhu was held on August 9 in the conference hall of the directorate. The meeting, attended by the officials and principals of all government colleges in the state, deliberated on several issues faced by the institutions.  

The meeting began with the principals sharing their problems. Their common requirements included skilled workers for maintenance of the existing infrastructure, while some principals highlighted the need for more teachers, college bus, etc.  

In response to the issues raised by the principals, Deo Nukhu and the Director of Higher Education, Kuholi Chishi addressed the meeting. For the common requirement of the colleges for skilled workers, it was highlighted that the Manpower Rationalization Committee (MRC) will propose the creation of posts in this area. Other issues were also deliberated during the consultative meeting.
