Convention to merge ZB & ZU postponed

Imphal, October 22 (MExN): The Zeliangrong People’s Convention to be jointly organised by both Zeliangrong Baudi (ZB) and Zeliangrong Union (ZU), for merger of the two bodies into one single Zeliangrong apex body, has been postponed in view of Zeliangrong Union backing off from jointly organising the Convention.   This was notified to all the Zeliangrong people living in Assam, Manipur and Nagaland through a press release issued by ZB-ZU Unification Committee.   “However, we will continue our sincere effort to ensure that ZB and ZU jointly organise the Zeliangrong People’s Convention at the earliest to settle the long pending issue in the larger interest of the Zeliangrong people,” stated the release appended by N. Diswang Hau, convenor; T. Mirhu, member; and K. Elu Ndang, member of ZB -ZU Unification Committee.   The date and venue of the convention will be notified in due course of time, it said. Further, the Committee appealed to all the Zeliangrong people to have patience and extend fullest cooperation in the endeavour to unite the ZB and ZU into a single apex body of the Zeliangrong people.   The declaration to hold the Zeliangrong People’s Convention was jointly made by Zeliangrong Baudi (AMN) and Zeliangrong Union (AMN) at Namdunlong, Imphal on May 25, 2017, the release informed.
