Cooch Behar U-19 trophy: Nagaland smells victory against Arunachal

Dimapur, January 22 (MExN): Nagaland were on the verge of victory on the Day-II of their last Group-D league match of the ongoing Cooch Behar Trophy U-19 (boys) against Arunachal Pradesh after declaring their 1st innings at 478 for 9 on January 22.


Nagaland captain, Joshua Ozukum was the highest scorer with 125 runs while his teammate Rishabh put another 100 runs in the tally. Upanshu—80 and Shamphri-50 were other leading scorers from the side.


In reply, Arunachal Pradesh were bowled out for 139 in their first innings, enviably made to follow-on on a deficit of 339 runs.


For Nagaland, Aditya took 6 wickets while Chiranjivi scalped three. In their second innings, the Arunachali were at 96 for 5 at stumps on Day –II.
They still need 244 runs to avoid an innings defeat with five wickets in hand, when the match resumes on Day-III.


Women (U-23) T20 tourney: Nagaland all out for 43
Meanwhile, Nagaland Women were bowled out for 44 runs in reply to 115 for 4 by Maharashtra at the ongoing Women (U-23) T20 tourney today. TS Hasabnis at 51 and SA Lonkar at 27 were the leading scorer for Maharashtra. For Nagaland, Sariba and Rinki took 2 wickets each. Nagaland will play Rajasthan next on January 23.
