Cooperative societies urged to focus on loan recovery

Kohima, August 17 (MExN):  The Phek District Cooperative Societies Union (PDCSU) along with Assistant Registrar Cooperative Societies (ARCS) Phek and staffs, BOD NSCU called on the Agriculture & Cooperation Minister, G Kaito Aye at GA Rest House, Phek on August 14.


A press release stated that the Minister emphasized the importance of cooperative activities and urged the cooperative leaders to give priority on recovery of ICDP, NCDC loans defaults in order to avail more schemes in near future. Appreciating the resolution of Central Police Organization (CPO) to ban import pig from outside the district, the Minister stated that such step will really benefit the farmers and boost their economy.


Phek ARCS, Temjen highlighted the department activities in the district, saying that Phek district has a lot of potentiality in agri and allied sectors. He said that the ARCS office is working very hard for recovery of defaults loans and appealed PDCSU to give their support for the success in its endeavors.


PDCSU, President, Kekhwengulo Lea assured the Minister and the department that it will give full support and cooperation particularly in recovery drive. Lea stated that the PDSU will organize training for the registered societies in all divisional level and for which the Union seek the logical support of the department.
