DIMAPUR, JANUARY 21 (MExN): The 50th anniversary celebration of the Chakhroma Sports Association (CSA) began today at Chümoukedima Town, Dimapur with Zale Neikha, Advisor for Youth Resources and Sports as special guest.

Neikha stated that the CSA has come a long way to be in celebration today and it is more or less because of unity.

"In games and sports, Nagas have that trait of self-praising, thinking ourselves to be the best but that is a very wrong practice which must be discarded forever if we plan to excel in our endeavours. We consider ourselves the best but we're still far behind when we play with others; take a look at Khelo India underway now and we haven't secured a single medal. Therefore, we must know how to respect others, choose the right sport , train like others and give our best to reach the pinnacle," he stated.

He called upon the players to develop strong determination. “A determined player also needs to know how to utilise his/ her time, be disciplined and practice thoroughly in order to succeed in life," he stated.

He further stated that traditional wrestling must be popularised. “Let's hope that a time will come soon for Nagas to participate and compete in such events," he added.

Meanwhile, the volleyball event for men and women and the men’s football event will be begin on January 21 at NAPTC grounds while athletics will be conducted from January 23 onwards.
