CSU endorses deadline to proxy teachers

Kohima, July 25 (MExN): The Chakhesang Students’ Union (CSU) has extended support to the deadline given by Minister for School Education & SCERT, Yitachu to proxy teachers to resign by June 30, 2016 or be dismissed from service and face legal action, stated a press release received here.

Yitachu had announced the same on June 8 while addressing the Physical Education Teachers (PET) as chief guest during their 3 days training-cum-conference on newly printed handbook, organized by the Directorate of School Education.

According to CSU President Dode Nakro, the CSU has been keeping a strict vigil on practice of proxy and substitute teachers within its jurisdiction in accordance with its standing Union Assembly resolution.

Encouraged by such move, the CSU appealed to its entire counterparts to give unflinching cooperation and work collectively to wipe out the menace in the best interest of the students community.

The CSU said the Minister serving deadline “to do away with substitute teachers” was source of encouragement to the students’ union to step up further and exercise and implement its resolution in letter and spirit.

Further, CSU president also appealed to the Minister to pay attention to the problems of the shortage of teachers, especially in the rural areas.
