Cultural performances mark third day of Hornbill Festival

The third day of Hornbill Festival began with various cultural performances on December 3 at Naga Heritage Village, Kisama. The occasion was graced by Lieutenant General, Shokin Chauhan, AVSM, YSM, SM, VSM, Director General of Assam Rifles was the chief guest.   The different indigenous Naga performances included Angami folk song (Tsiadou PHFE), Konyak folk dance (Shuleipe), Ao Tenem Sungjok (Steps of the Hornbill), Rengma Rhacho (Indigenous Game), Pochury (Shakvudow), Chakhesang traditional wrestling, Chang Lo-Chia (Gents song), Sumi Aphilo Kuwo (War Dance), and Kuki-Khulkon Lam.   In the evening session, following cultural performances were displayed: Lotha- Woro Juhre Ojurhe (dance), Kachari- Bal Maijai (folk dance), Yimchunger- Reku Lukhun (beheading enemy’s head), Zeliang- Herie Lim (Hornbill dance), Phom- Kahsho Asho (folk song), Garo- Jaktong Sika (traditional game), Khiamniungan- Noklie, and Sangtam (merry folk dance).   The event was organized by the Department of Art and Culture and the chief host was Parliamentary Secretary for Tourism, C. Apok Jamir.
