Cutting and tailoring unit to empower women

Kiphire, August 19 (MExN): Cutting and tailoring unit for special women was held at Government Hr Sec School, Kiphire on August 19 with the theme ‘to empower our special women.’ The programme was initiated by District Administration, Kiphire and Mahila Shakti Kendra.

The main objective of this unit was held to provide training to under privilege young girls and women for durations of 3-6 months informed a DIPR report. 

President AST Kiphire, S. Likhumla Sangtam thanked the District Administration and Mahila Shakti Kendra for initiating such programme especially for the special women like single mother and under privileged women. She requested the district administration to provide the training facilities to skill the special women folks and to monitor and assist the training from time to time so that it will be a fruitful for the trainees.

ADC Kiphire, Reny Wilfred in his speech mentioned that almost 40 women will get training in 6 months and appealed to the trainers to work hard with sincerity and enthusiasm so that they can even export their products to other districts. He called upon all the trainers that it is a humble starting of their life, but it has a huge potential to change their life because it is making them sustainable.

Simultaneously the same launching programme was also held in Pungro and Seyochung-Sitimi sub-division. The programme was chaired by District Coordinator MSK, Kiphire, Albert.
