DC & DEO Mon informs polling personnel

Mon, February 9 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer (DC & DEO) of Mon, K. Thavaseelan, IAS, has warned polling officials absenting from training that the same will invite stern action against them. Further, he asked polling personnel who have not submitted two recent passport size photos to the Personnel Management Cell at ADC Mon HQ, P. Muno’s chamber in the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon to submit the same.  

Postal Ballot: All concerned have also been informed that Form 12 is available at the Postal Ballot Facilitation Centre, 1st Floor, DC Office, Mon starting February 3. ID cards for verification may be produced to avail the forms. Last date for submission of form for personnel enrolled in other districts was February 8, while for personnel enrolled under Mon district, the last date of submission is February 13. The DC & DEO further informed that submission of a copy of appointment letter and a copy of EPIC is mandatory along with Form 12.  

Grade-IV staff on election duty: The DC & DEO of Mon has also informed all Grade IV staff detailed for duty for the 13th Nagaland Legislative Assembly elections to apply for Postal Ballot at the Postal Ballot Facilitation Counter on the 1st Floor of the office of the Deputy Commissioner, Mon with their EPIC/ Aadhaar/ Service ID Card. They may do so between 11:00 am and 3:00 pm on all working days. The deadline is February 11.  

Election Expenditure Monitoring training: K. Thavaseelan further informed all concerned that there will be training for expenditure agents of candidates on matters relating to Election Expenditure Monitoring on February 12 at DC’s conference hall at 2:00 pm.  

2nd & 3rd round of training: In another notification, the DC & DEO of Mon informed all polling personnel that the second round of training is scheduled on February 13 and 14 at Government Higher Secondary School, Mon.  

Presiding Officers and 1st Polling Officers will be trained on February 13 starting 10:00 am. 2nd & 3rd Polling Officers will be trained on February 14 between 10:00 am and 1:00 pm. 4th Polling Officers will be trained on February 14 from 1:30 pm – 4:30 pm.   The third round of training is scheduled on February 22 for Presiding & 1st Polling Officers and February 23 for 2nd, 3rd & 4th Polling Officers. The time and venue will remain the same.  

Stern action will be taken against those who fail to turn up under relevant sections of elections laws, cautioned the notification. All polling personnel who have not submitted two recent passport size photos have also been requested to submit the same during the training.
