DC & DEO of Wokha notifies

Wokha, February 11 (DIPR): Deputy Commissioner & District Election Officer, Wokha, Dr. Manazir Jeelani Samoon has informed that all government employees designated for the time being by the State government for the smooth conduct of any election shall be deemed to be on deputation to the Election Commission for the period commencing from the date of the notification calling for such election and ending with the date of declaration of its results. Accordingly, such officials shall, during that period, be subject to the control, superintendence and discipline of the Election Commission.  

Therefore, any government employees drafted for official duty in connection with election if found guilty of any act or omission and breach of official duties without reasonable cause shall be punishable under relevant section of law, the DC & DEO stated.   Hence, all the Head of Department/Offices under Wokha district have been asked to ensure that the officers and staff under their establishment attend the trainings without fail in order to avoid disciplinary action.  

Medical Board for exemption of duty

The second Medical Board for exemption of polling personnel from election duty will be conducted on February 14 at Dr. Motsuo Memorial Hospital, Wokha from 10:00 am. Therefore, all the polling personnel who have applied for exemption of duty on medical ground have been informed to report without fail.  

Training for polling personnel

The second round of training for polling personnel under Wokha district has been fixed on February 15 and 16 at Government Higher Secondary School, Wokha at 10:00 am. The training of presiding officers and 1st polling officers will be held on February 15, while for 2nd, 3rd, 4th (VVPAT) polling officers and Grade IV, it will be held on February 16. All polling personnel have been informed to attend the training. Disciplinary action will be initiated against the absentees as per the relevant section of law, it was warned.
