Kiphire, February 16 (MExN): Deputy Commissioner Kiphire, M Shayung Phom has invited beneficiaries under Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RAS) and ADIP scheme to attend RAS and ADIP programme at Hopongkyu Memorial Hall on February 19.
The implementing agency of RAS and ADIP scheme is Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. RAS is a scheme for providing physical aids and assisted living devices to senior citizens belonging to BPL category.
According to the type of infirmity, different kinds of assistive devices are provided, such as wheel chair, walking stick, hearing aids machine, walker, crutches and spectacles.
Also under ADIP scheme, Aids & Appliance which do not cost more than Rs 10,000 is given free of cost to the disabled person whose monthly income is up to Rs 15,000 against prescription by an authorized medical expert. Under RAS and ADIP scheme 1116 beneficiaries has been selected from Kiphire district.
